This beautifully decorated cloth rack still retains most of its thick lacquer finish. Each end of the head rail curves upward in a solid panel decorated with relief carvings. Running down the side rails are the spandrels decorated in open carvings of dragons. The rack has three tiers. Each tier is decorated with open and relief carvings. The middle tier is a solid panel decorated with high relief carvings of stories taken from traditional operas. The floor stretcher is open lattice and is inserted to the side rails forming a strong base for the rack.
