These hooks were used in a traditional Chinese canopy bed. On each side on the front of a canopy bed there is a metal hook where a silk ribbon was used to tie the mosquito hook to this small metal hole. At night a mosquito net would cover the bed and during the day, the net would be gathered to either side onto the hook.
