This box is made to house an abacus.  This abacus has a slide-in bottom piece which serves to provide good fung shui  - so that the money of the owner of this abacus will not flow out.  The box is finished with a wine color lacquer and decorated with a sculptured metal plate.  The interior has a section to house brushes and a small ink stone.
