A black lacquer Kang table. This black lacquer Kang table was built in the traditional design of lute table with panel legs which scroll up inwardly. The main
construction is kept very simple with a top panel and two side panels for the legs. To strengthen the construction, braces are used on both front corners. The braces are carved in the
designs of grass dragons among trailing plants. In this way, the braces serve dual purposes of decoration and support. The apron is further decorated with lacquer which makes the
dragon style braces stand out more. The original lacquer finishes of this table have been very well preserved, so we can still use the original finishes.
